Nom Nom Fish is a puzzle game made by Studio Scale ("we", "us"). This page explains, in plain words, what information the game uses, who else sees it, and the choices you have.

There is no account. No sign up, no login, no password. You never give us your name or your email address to play.

Your game stays on your device

Your levels, coins, boosters, lives and settings are saved on your own device. We do not run our own servers, so we cannot see this data.

If you delete the game, this data is deleted too. Purchases that last forever, such as No Ads, are linked to your Apple Account. You can get them back with Restore Purchases in the game's settings or shop.

Ads, and your say over them

Nom Nom Fish is free to play, so it shows ads. There are two kinds:

  • Ads between levels. These show now and then after a level.
  • Reward videos. You only see these when you tap a button to get something extra, such as coins or a life.

The ads come from Google AdMob, not from us. To show and measure ads, Google may receive:

  • information about your device, such as the model, iOS version and language,
  • your IP address, which gives a rough location (country or city, never your exact location),
  • how you interact with ads, such as views and taps,
  • your device's advertising identifier, but only if you allow tracking.

Google uses this to choose which ads to show, to count views and taps, to stop the same ad from showing too often, and to fight fraud. You can read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your choices:

  • iOS asks whether Nom Nom Fish may track you. If you say no, you still see ads, but they are not personalised, and the game works exactly the same. You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent screen from Google appears before any ad. You can accept or refuse. You can change your answer later with Ad Privacy in the game's settings.
  • The No Ads purchase removes the ads between levels. Reward videos stay, but only appear when you choose them.

How we learn what to improve

To find out which levels are too hard and how the game can get better, we use two analytics tools: Google Firebase Analytics and GameAnalytics. They receive information like:

  • levels started, won and lost, how many tries a level took, and how long it took,
  • coins earned and spent, and boosters used,
  • which screens and offers were shown,
  • purchases made (the product and price only, never payment details),
  • ads watched,
  • your device model, iOS version, language, country, and the game version,
  • a random ID created for this install of the game.

This data does not include your name, your email or your contacts. We look at it as totals and trends across all players. If you allow tracking, these tools may also receive your advertising identifier. If you do not allow it, they do not get it.

We also use Firebase Remote Config. It lets us change game settings, such as rewards and in-game prices, without a new app update. For this, your device asks Google's servers for the latest settings.

You can read the privacy policies of these tools here:

Purchases

You can buy coins, boosters, offers and No Ads in the game. Apple handles every payment. Your card, billing address and Apple Account details go to Apple, never to us.

The game only receives what it needs to give you your items: which product you bought and the purchase receipt. You can see your purchases in Settings → your name → Media & Purchases.

Notifications

If you say yes, the game can tell you when your lives are full again. This message is created on your device and stays there. No server sends it, and nothing reaches us.

You can turn it off at any time in Settings → Notifications → Nom Nom Fish.

What the game never touches

The game does not use your camera, photos or microphone. It does not ask for your exact location. It does not read your contacts, files or health data. There is no chat, and players cannot send anything to each other.

Who we share data with

Only the partners named on this page: Apple, Google (AdMob, Firebase) and GameAnalytics. They work for us or provide the service, and they follow their own privacy policies. We may also share information if the law requires it.

We do not sell your data for money. Under some US state laws, showing personalised ads may count as "sharing" or "selling" data. You can stop this at any time by not allowing tracking (see above).

Where data is stored

Our partners may store and process data in the United States and other countries. When data leaves the EU or the UK, they use legal safeguards, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

How long data is kept

Data on your device stays until you delete the game. Analytics data is kept only as long as we need it to improve the game. After that it is deleted or made fully anonymous. Ad data is kept by Google under its own rules.

  • Personalised ads: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Analytics and Remote Config: our legitimate interest in fixing problems and making the game better.
  • Purchases: to give you what you paid for.

Children

Nom Nom Fish is not made for children under 13 (or under 16 in some EU countries), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are a parent and think your child has shared data with us, please write to us and we will help.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete your data, to object to how it is used, to withdraw your consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give these rights.

Because we do not know who you are, we usually cannot link data to you. Still, write to us and we will help as far as the data allows.

You can also act yourself, right now:

  • Delete the game to remove everything saved on your device.
  • Stop ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Change your ad choices with Ad Privacy in the game's settings (EU, UK and Switzerland).

Changes to this policy

When the game gets new features, or the law changes, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
